Is that a banana or are you just happy to see me?

My friend Vickie sent out this picture, and I thought it was too funny not to share with the masses.

I'm suddenly craving banana bread...

Professor Tucker

The McHusband and I both had our glasses on last night while we watched Fringe and when it was over and I took my glasses off, I decided to put them on Tucker, who was laying at our feet. He actually kept them on for a couple of seconds before lowering his head so that they fell off.

I don't know why, but the McHusband and I thought Tucker wearing the glasses was hilarious. Maybe you just had to be there.

We pulled out the peanut butter and Tucker was like, "What glasses?"

Look at that concentration. I think the glasses help him focus.

"Mmmm, peanut butter."

"Hey, I can read the jar now. Are you feeding me STORE-brand peanut butter?"

"Do these frames make my face look fat?"

No, Tucker, I think it's the peanut butter...

Crazy kitty

I hope I'm not getting anyone in trouble, but I'm pretty sure Chelle and Jeremy's cooler had recently been in contact with some kind of addictive substance.

Emma couldn't stay way from the cooler. She stood her front two feet on it, rolled around on the ground in front of it, and rubbed herself all over the strap.

Are you thinking what I'm thinking? Yep - catnip.

Actually, we have no idea what was so appealing. Whatever it was, Emma was a very happy camper.

(I apologize for the quality of the video - there weren't many lights on and I didn't want to get too close or else she would've run away. And you don't need sound, but if you want to hear Jeremy, the McHusband, and Chelle talking and the TV on in the background, go ahead and listen.)

Later, Tori was the paranoid one.

"You see the orange thing, too, right?"

For the birds

I hung three birdfeeders and put my birdbath in the backyard on Saturday. Well, I call it a birdbath; Morgan thinks it's a special water bowl just for her.

Because they were getting baths on Sunday, we let Morgan and Tucker be, well, dogs on Saturday. They were outside pretty much all day and by later in the afternoon, they were pooped. It's amazing how exhausting fresh air can be.

When the McHusband aerated last weekend, he accidentally cut through the extension cord going from the house to the bug zapper (left by the previous owners). So he and Tucker worked on repairing that.

The two feeders on the hook thingie are a finch feeder and a regular old birdfeeder. I also have a hummingbird feeder. At the other house, I had it right outside a kitchen window and it was really neat to watch the hummingbirds. Here, I don't have a good place like that to put the feeder so I hung it from a tree not too far off the deck. I hope 1) that some hummingbirds find the feeder and 2) that we can actually see them.

Happy hubby

The McHusband could barely wait until the grass was dry Saturday morning to finally get on his mower and do some damage.

First he had to familiarize himself with all the buttons and pedals and knobs.

But then he was off and running!

Reverse is a little tricky because the machine automatically stops cutting when in reverse unless you're pulling up on some knob. Of course the McHusband will be Googling that so he can cancel out that silly safety precaution.

There he goes, off to knock on doors and see who else wants their lawn mowed.

Okay, maybe it wasn't QUITE that much fun, but he did enjoy using his new piece of machinery. I hope he's still liking it come August.

Another one bites the dust

On Saturday, I headed to the Y while the McHusband was out in the yard with his newest toy. I put the dogs in the bonus room but didn't put Tucker in his crate. I looked around and didn't see anything that could get him in trouble.

I was wrong.

This is what I saw when I got home.

Those black pieces used to make up one of my vacuum hose attachments. If you remember from when this happened in February, the main loss that time was a steam cleaner attachment. I don't even remember leaving this attachment in the bonus room. It's the one I use to clean the stairs, which I did last weekend.

At least we know that Tucker's not ready to be out of the crate yet.

Oh, and please excuse the state of my stairs if you're here in the near future. I'll be ordering a new attachment but until then...

Getting more for my money

Who says you need expensive spa treatments or special creams to exfoliate your face? All I have to do is go to the Y and use one of their towels to wipe sweat from my face. I swear, I think I lost a pound in skin cells, but that's not exactly how I wanted to drop some weight.

It's called fabric softener, people. Don't be afraid of the Snuggle bear.
