Houdini?

We went to a friend's ice cream social birthday celebration last night (great idea, by the way). The McHusband decided it would be a good opportunity to test Tucker further and leave him out in the bonus room with Morgan while we were gone.

We went through the bonus room, made sure there weren't any vacuum attachments or other tempting objects for him, gave Tucker three of his toys (two bones and the Cuz) to chew on, and said, "Be good" before optimistically walking out of the house.

Once again, Tucker greeted us from the den when we got home.

Apparently, the baby gate that strikes so much fear into Morgan's heart is just a small obstacle that's meant to be overcome in Tucker's eyes.

Here's Morgan, stuck in the bonus room while Tucker had the run of the house.

That's exactly how we found the gate - laying down flat and less than the length of Morgan's body. Even if she barely tried, she could easily hop over the gate.

But she won't try because she's scared of it.

The gate is normally propped up against the hall-side of the doorway and the right side is behind the litterbox to help stabilize it. How in the world did it end up INSIDE the bonus room and turned 90 degrees?

The McHusband is WAY too proud of his juvenile delinquent, jail-breaking puppy.

The good news is that Tucker didn't appear to do much while we were gone. He's completely potty-trained so we're not worried about him having accidents, but he can get into trouble when he's bored (Remember the two vacuum attachments?). I have a feeling he probably just laid either at the top of the stairs or halfway down on the landing. He'd want to know if Morgan went somewhere (not that there was a snowball's chance of that), but he wanted to be ready to greet us when we got home.

Now I just need to remember exactly how we instilled Morgan's gate paranoia and try it out on Tucker.

The ironic thing is that I was talking to someone - Anna? - at the party and said, "I might have a really good blog post when we get home cuz who knows what we might find."

I shoulda kept my mouth shut.
