Family Reunion Part II: Food, Fun, and Falls

Daniel got up at 3:30 Friday night/Saturday morning to cook barbecue for the reunion. Melissa, his daughter, gives it at least one thumb up.

Actually, I think we all gave it two thumbs up, but Melissa's other thumb was busy holding her next mouthful of meat.

Here we are chowing down.

After the food, it was time to head back down to the water to prove you CAN swim less than an hour after eating. Chase is ready!

This is the Kubota. It's like a golf cart on steroids and it's the best way down to and back up from the water. I'll show you why in a minute.

The water is waaaaaaaaaaay downhill from the house. Even down at the "beach," the ground's a little steep and unstable. Kevin and Jenny found that out the hard way. Literally. Both of them had their feet slide out from under them WHILE HOLDING CHASE and down they went. Luckily, they kept ahold of Chase and stayed upright, but they both banged up the same leg.

The McMom did some kayaking and Nathaniel walked on water. Every family has one of those, don't they?

Here comes the McHusband on the jet ski but wait... Is he towing the other one?

Yes, there were mechanical difficulties. Well, it wouldn't be a McFamily reunion without an engine to fix or soup up or just plain ol' talk about.

That's the McHusband on the left and Kevin on the right.

Chase just spent time between laps while we waited to find out what was wrong. As you can see in the background, the beach is very rocky.

The McMom and I even let Jenny hold him for a few minutes.
There's more fun to be had, but no more falls, thank goodness. Part III coming soon.
